Touch up paint (Spray cans)

I need some touch up paint for my AU XR6. It's Galaxy Blue (paint code GY). Anyone know where I would be able to get a spray can of this colour - Autobarn, Supercheap etc don't seem to stock current colours, and Ford only have the brush/bottle packs.

auto-one (at kensington anyway) makes colours up for you....my bro wanted a can of series 2 red, and it was like $45 for 500ml

Auto-one do a good job. I've had a couple of Ford colours made up from them & they've been spot on. IMHO you should stay away from the Supercheap et al paints. You get what you pay for I've found.

On this topic, I've been wondering for a while about touch-up paint that you just paint on.. the bonnet has little chips everywhere and I was wondering where I would go to get the right colour for my car (Platinum, a sort've grey-silver used on EAs). Will autobarn etc stock this colour, or do I have to go to ford, or do I have to get it custom mixed?

probably custom mixed. Get the paint code (usually two letters) off your plates under the hood and they can do it for you.

Get the paint code and take it to your local auto shop. They should have a book that converts car manufacturers paint codes to the paint manufacturers paint codes (eg GY = ph1040). Then all you have to do is buy the right can! Being an EA, you should have no problems matching this way.

JCV8,
Go and see Perry at Autobarn Belconnen, he mixed some Galaxy Blue for me. If you can wait until I move house in about 4 weeks you can have my can when I unpack the boxes.

Cheers, Bazza.
