I have a problem with the timing on my EL Falcon GLI. At 20600 k's she lost the coolant and wrecked the motor. I have started fitting a motor ex EF. Some differences were encountered such as castings in the inlet and switches for the ECU. The place where I bought the motor fitted the Bosch Distributor from the old motor but it appears wrong. Haynes Manual tells me little as they have the N0.1 Spark plug lead coming off the Distrutor on the engine side when in fact the cap is marked N0.1 on the opposite side. Has anyone any timing info on this motor. I hope so

so they put the dizzy in 180 degrees out? or just clipped the cap on ass about?

It runs now after a lot of messing about. TheHaynes book seems to refer to older equipment. The cap only goes one way. The makers saw to that by moulding a key in the system. Shows the reliability of after market publications.
I was looking to see if anyone had any up to date literature on the problem but managed to get it right by trial and error. Thanks for your interest
