my seems to be running fine, but its really quite slow. i was thinking about resetting the ECU and seeing what happens after that. but ive heard conflicting things. some people say 'go ahead, it'll be fine' and some others say 'i wouldnt, the car runs like shit while its trying to relearn'.

what are you guys opinions? how often, if at all do you guys reset your ECUs?

it wont run to shit at all with youre mods.. Only with different cams/compressions and varios other major mods will the ecu run real crap after a re-set.. it may hunt a lil for a period of time , but going of the mods i can see u have it shoulnt run that bad at all

I don't bother reseting it, unless I did something major like an exhaust. The ECU learns everything over time, reseting it just makes it re-learn everything quickly.

When I reset mine it does run shit for a little while, I give it a quick trashing and it sorts itself out.

chalk me up for "dont reset it" as psycho chicken said, they learn over time, resetting it stuffs up all the learnt air fuel ratios. my car runs like a dog for more than 500kms before it sorts itself out if i reset the computer!

Ive resetted mine on several occasions when doing welding and last time when i fitted my new extractors... hunts idle for probably 20 sec, but never stalls and after that it runs fine from then onward... i would give it a go as ive never had any probs

It depends on how modded your engine is as to how crap it will run. The more mods the shittier idle, take off, everything. It doesn't do much on stock cars.

what do you guys think it'd do to my car if i reset it?
mine idles really crap now at 200rpm (btw it's a stock ED)

200rpm? Doesn't the tacho only start reading at 500rpm?

And also the ECU doesn't control the idle below 500 rpm if I recall correctly so resetting it won't do much. So in other words, 200rpm is REALLY very ordinary LOL..

i didn't notice it started at 500 i thought it started at 0 cause my spac idled much higher
problem solved :)

also how come once i start it up on petrol it idles at 1000-1100 for about 20 seconds and then comes to normal idle?
