bad idle when a/c is on

hi guys,
Another idle problem for yas. When my a/c is on my idle drops to pretty much stalling (not sure on revs waiting to put in tacho dash) and tonight it actually stalled. So i cant really demist propperly cos the a/c turns on automaticly, that brings me to another question ist that a standard thing? Anyway has this happend to anyone before if so can i fix it myself? Just do not want to go to auto elec unless absolutely necessary

Re: bad idle when a/c is on

It's worth giving the idle speed control solenoid (ISC) a good cleaning. It controls idle when various things are pulling power from the engine at idle - a/c, power steering etc.

There's a good doc over at fordmods (rego required) with pics about cleaning it
