Looking at my cat converter the other day it came to my attention it was dented to the poo house. After finding out the replacement cost for a new one(dont think they were trying to rip me off), and looking at my bank account, i was thinking of going 2nd hand.
So i was wondering what was the newest cat i could fit with minimal fuss. ( eb/d,ef/l, au etc)
Cheers for your help
Jase
P.s. could someone mention expected prices for new/ 2nd hand cats

I got a Hi-Flow cat fitted to my AU for $200 in Adelaide A long drive though but seriously any Ford cat will fit but it will have to be cut off the old exhaust and welded on to yours, could also fall apart in a week an clog your muffler best to shop around and buy a new one
the piping and cat for you falcon (from the exhaust manifold to the middle pipe section) is exactly the same from 88 to Sep 2002.
Nothing changed at all so go to a newer car wreaker and get one.

All the way up the AuIII. With the Barra they changed the floor plan and changed to stainless system so it may be differant but it may even be the same I'm not sure.
I left walkers Australia (makes exhausts for Ford/holden/mitsi and toyota) before offical production started on the barra I just saw the preproduction stuff.

That's what I fitted, AU cat. Got it from the wreckers for $45, has done less then 60 000k. New one was gonna cost $250. It fit straight on from flange to tail pipe. Took 10 minutes to fit.
I ended up getting a 2nd hand one, as i was getting extractors + 2.5'' system and wanted better flow than my old one could give(dented)
When i asked few qustions before i bought it the guy at the wreckers said, and i quote, "Yeah we test all our stuff here it's fine... looks real good". For what ever reason i assumed he wasn't lying....
next day come to cut and fit it with my extractors and the zorst gut just said "Its shot to sh*t... looks like its done lots, and lots of kays. Nearly completly blocked"
After quik talk I got a hi-flow cat fitted for $200, and hes letting me pay it off over few weeks (spent all my money on extracters and zorst, also uni stuff)
So I'm gonna go back and stick that cat up the wreckers pee hole.
On a plus, my car guns it now
