Difference between EAII and EBI. - Ford Forums

Hey guys,
Im interested in getting an EAII or EBI Spack.What is the main differences between the 2? Is it just the lights at the rear , because looks dont really bother me - they look so similar anyway....

Any comments are appreciated.

Well off the top of my head, the list of differences would be:

* EB has 5 spoke alloys
* different grille, rear lights, C pillar trims
* different seats (I think)
* EB has central locking, tibbe locks
* EB would have benefitted from more of the refinements that were continually phased in

All minor stuff though.

Jack, im not sure about the fairmont series, but the
GL and S pack had the same shitty cloth seats in the EA2 and EB1

Oops - I must be thinking EB II. I wasn't sure about that one - though the XR series probably had nice seats...

the eb xr seats were those ugly multi coloured things very wrong looking things. But did have the side and lumbar supportive, so they were more sporty. and the cloth on the spacks isnt 2 bad, kinda.

...also the type of coolant reserve tank and the positioning of the battery is different on the EB1.

Also consider the advantages of the 4 litre engine in the eb1 rather than the 3.9 in the ea2, not to much of an issue but worth looking at. You'll probly find the price difference no too bad either.

Actually the 4.0 was introduced with the series II. I was wrong in my earlier comments about the EB introducing central locking and tibbe locks - that was an EA 30th Anniversary innovation.

What about the dash layouts? Speedo/tacho/etc.

I don't see too many EB S-packs around. For some strange reason most of the ones I've seen (about half a dozen) are Reef Green or Polynesian Green or whatever that color is called.
