doing i hole motor rebuild and i have a ed cam sitting there and was wondering if there is any differnt or which one would be quicker

ED cam wont give you much differance, better of going for an EF cam.
The EF cam is very similar to the ED XR6, but it has less lift.

Yeah that is the case, but the EF cam will give you good bang for you buck.

I thought standard EA 3.9L cam was slightly smaller than an EB,ED,EF 4.0L XR6 cam but bigger than the standardf EB,ED,EF 4.0L cam. Don't put the EDd cam in ur EA !!!
Do what INJECTED250 said and but a cheap regrind and shims.

EB/D XR cam is different to the EF one.

What I recall from memory

3.9 EA 17/63 65/11 260/256 0.4928 0.4608 2
4.0 EB 16/56 62/14 252/256 0.4800 0.4608 2
XR6 EB 14/66 62/18 260/260 0.4800 0.4608 2

Must have tamed the 4.0L cam so it wouldn't use as much fuel.
The XR6 cam just let more exhaust out.
