Been looking at different ways fo fit Cold Air intake, and vents for my EF(to cool extractors etc), when i came across these on the fordmods site.
Just though id see what youse though. Any possible problems with the setup in the pics, and does it look alright to you?
Im not sure about the look yet.

Does anyone have a pic of a full car with one on??

There are other ones i've seen, and liked better. but havent been able to track down yet.

They look like theyd be effective, but i think there ugly! And id be worried about water getting in!

Yeah I reckon water would be the biggest concern. Running up the bonnet and if the car is parked in the wet the water will get in too. Can't be good. I'd have to see a better pic to judge whether they look any good or not.

Personally I think that the scoop looks very good, I have fitted one to my EL XR8, I was the first to make and fit the scoop to my car that is shown in the pics and currently my friend is manufacturing the scoops you see on fordmods.

During development of the scoop I spoke to a tickford engineer who was part of the team making the EL sequential XR8. My concerns were for the fitment of the cone filter. But he told me during testing of the scoop they found that minimal air was entering the scoop. The air coming in from the standard air snorkel was much greater and therefore was creating a negative effect, because it was pushing all the air out of the airbox through the sequential scoop. For that reason I have solely fitted it for cosmetic reasons.

I can think of a way to rig it up which will aslo reduce potential water getting into engine on my EF. EA is as different story but.
