ea fairmont ghia 3.9 mpfi help please

Hi just wondering if anybody could help with sorting out problem with car.
Occasionally the car will seem to run sluggishly as if on 5 cylinders but not all the time sometimes you can start it up and it'll run fine then after about 10 minutes running it will lose power and be real sluggish then itll come right again .It's becoming real frustrating and not sure as what to look for next so far i have:
checked ht leads
install new fuel filter
clean injectors(in place on car with fuelmiser)
replace rotor arm and dizzy cap(what a job that was)
checked electrical connections on injectors and earth wire for fuel pump
checked for leaks in vacuum hoses
check pcv valve
I am running it on 95 octane petrol and it doesn't seem to be using any water or overheating etc
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Alan

Sticking throttle body butterfly valve perhaps try some CRC Throttle body cleaner.

Ok,
what about spark plugs? condition and gap?

All earth connections to the battery. This could be a trans issue.
In the last, it may be that the TCC could be locking up early, not allowing the engine to spin up and generate the power/torque required. (battery earths can generate a false transmission issue)

Cheers
Jas

Re: ea fairmont ghia 3.9 mpfi help please

Yes you guessed it,started playing up again, have spent the last week testing everything and it all tested good but still had an intermittant sluggishness and deadspot when you revved from idle(really frustrating i tell ya) so as a last resort i went and bought a set of high quality HT leads and put them on and YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAA PROBLEM SOLVED after a month of dicking around i'm STOKED and it drives "BEAUTIFUL!"
So, I say i must of had a crook lead somewhere and obviosly overlooked it.
Anyway cheers great forum and plenty of help.
Thanks again Alan
