Just out of curiosity why did ford ditch the digi speedo and the self leveing suspension when the eb2 was made???

My understanding is:

The EB Ghia introduced sports suspension to replace the EA's self-levelling system - and softer/higher suspension was a no-cost option. At the same time, the EB Fairmont got a digital instead of analogue speedo, while the Ghia lost it in favour of analogue instruments. It was part of a push to make the Ghia a sports/luxury sedan.

The EB II Fairmont then lost the digital speedo again, though Fairlanes and LTDs kept it until the DF/NF replaced the NC III/DC III. Self-levelling was retained on the LWB models until the AU replaced the DL/NL.

Is it possible to replace the digital speedo in the EB with the analogue one from an EBII?

I like the digital stuff but an oil pressure gauge would be nice
