Re: Ea Gt 351

It is the original, and only EA GT. It was supposed to be crushed at the proving ground but a couple of employees hid the car in a shed at the proving ground to save it and it was discovered nearly 10 years later. I saw the car at the Gordon Institute of Tafe when it was being restored there and though thats looks pretty cool, I wonder whos car it is, not knowing how significant a car it was.

According to that tv show about GT's on Ch 9(?) over the w/e, the original car was crushed. How true that is I don't know.

Its not true. It was supposed to be crushed but a few crafty employees didn't want to see it happen so they hid it. The one at the discovery centre is the original and one and only. It was built up as a red car and copped a spray job. The engine bay is still red.

Looks like a beast, not a fan of the rear wing though.

Re: Ea Gt 351

Shame it didn't go ahead, that so called "ugly" EA GT would probably still be spanking the HSV's of today, let alone the super attractive VN's it would have been up against.
