The other day I installed a EL ISC in place of the EA unit, just to give me a little extra clearance between the BBM and bonnet.
After driving the car, I noticed that the EL ISC actually kept the engine revving for a little longer between gear changes, making the car easier/smoother to drive.
Has anyone else tried this?
I remember a thread a while back where someone had an issue with rpm falling rate between changes.. this might help.
My old ISC seemed to be working fine when compared to another EA ISC, so my impression is that the EL unit behaves better.

Does it actually fit? I never knew that. The EL unit looks very different to the EA one. Might try that, be a good upgrade. Then again, the EA ones don't seem to do anything anyway
Bass , i had (have) a problem with revs falling to fast during changes causing a rough change. Im very interested in this change over - is it just as simple as unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one in?...ill have to give it go..
thanks

the difference is the ef onwards isc's have a vacummn limiting valve built in, its that little black bit on the side, it limits the decel rate of the engine.

Ahh so thats what the black thing is. Can it be adjusted?
EA90S, I picked mine up for nothing, but the last time I asked, a S/H ISC was about $25.
Oh, if anyone in melb wants to try it t see if it will help, I'll be willing to pass mine around at the next meet. It does not takel long to change.
