I have a 5 speed SVO with the stocker 3.9 MPFi. It has very low oil pressure sounds dodgy and recently shat the timing chain. My plan is to replace the Motor with something more reliable and faster. the plan was an AU XR6 motor and may still be. although I don't have a great source of income so a loan is in order. if anyone out there has any ideas or knows any wreckers or people in victoria with any contacts or motor that they don't want. please help.

oh and if Any one would like any parts from the motor, most likely including the computer then yell out.

or if someone wants a 2.77 LSD just rebuilt.

I don't think I'd bother with the AU XR6 engine over the stock AU engine, because it isn't all that different to the Forte item and is much harder/costlier to find.

Depending on the quotes you get, you might find that it is better to purchase an entire wrecked EF-AU and swap over all that parts you might want.

alrighty im in qld but i own a EA and was planning a engine swap,so i went looking for motors,i found a good EF motor with only 75,000 on it for a dirt cheap price of around $800 now you can get em cheaper but i know this motor and yeah,i didnt buy it,was sold before i got back to him.

AU series 2 motor $1,400 or $1,250 exchange or complete with wiring etc $2,200 again prices vary.
EF $695,to $800 to $1,350 depends who you go to.
EB XR6 $2,000 or stock 4ltr $450-$700
ED 4ltr same basically as eb $600


thats basically it i was looking at doing a VCT XR6 transplant (too many hassles) motor was going to cost $3,000,my opinion is to grab a EF motor if you want decent power/torque and far easier to put into ea-ed's.
