The EAII I am buying needs work

I am currantly looking into buying my first Ea II Falcon for $300 from a mate.
He purchased it for 1K 5 months ago and spent near on 1K for the RWC and stereo, the reason he is selling it is because
1. it needs the dissy overhauled (wont start when the motor is above half and can stall when foot is lifted of pedal).
2. power steering pump leaks (I have a reco xe one ).
3. it stalls on gas constantly whilst turning sharp corners slowly (5kph to 15kph I think he is just turning the wheel to much).
4. the enigine has a few oil leaks also.

Can any one give me a rough idea on how much a reco dissy is worth or how much a over haul kit is worth? does the xe power steering pump fit? and as for the oil leaks i hope that tightening the sump bolts will fix that (fingers crossed) and i am after a body kit for it because the front and rear bumpers are not the best to look at.
the body is in very good condition only a few parking bumps and their is no rust at all in the body

The dizzy will be around $150 i had mine rebuilt and regraphed and installed for that when i had worked done on my XF, should be the same.
The power steering you have wont fit. I imagine no more than $200 for the pump from a wreckers.
Ask a gas specialist for the turning problem.
Where are the oil leaks?

Hope that helps.

You sure it needs a overhaul? I'm pretty sure what you have described is a symptom of the ignition timing being too far retarted, so try advancing your timing by turning the dizzy anti-clockwise a little by hand. Might as well try that out first, never know might save yourself some money.

I wouldn't bother with a rebuilt kit for a distributor, your probably better off just buying a new one which are around $200.

You'll need an EA one. Clean the one you have up with some metho and a rag, and drive it around for a bit and see if any fresh fluid is leaking out of it. Mine looked like it was leaking with all the crud on the bottom, but it hasn't leaked a drop!

Probably to do with your ignition/dizz problem mentioned above.

Hehehe... you get those. Leak from the rocker cover are easy to fix, leaks near the front/oilpan will be a bit harder. Leaks near where the transmission connects up the engine are the worst to fix.

I should let people know a little about me I have grown up eating, breathing and sweating ford's,
when the young blke that owns the car was going to purchase it I took it for a drive and it just spoke to me, the way some cars do to those who have that feeling. but as this is my first step into this model i am after any help in this regard. I know if it was a old 141, 171, 200, 22+ or even the 250 I'd bang a bit of sillcon around the sump to fix the oil leaks, or just strip the dizzy and make one up from the dozen stripped ones i have in the shed.
but as it is all computerized I have to go at it like i am building a new computer with care and attension.

Mate, treat the motor like ya would an old carbied one.
The only places you have to be careful is around the sensors and that.....i.e. don't get water on the oxygen sensor. The dizzys are weird, but you can do the timing (more or less) yourself. Just remember this is a base timing and the computer will fine-tune it as needed.
In order to do the timing, look on the rear driver's side of the engine bay. Right up in the corner you will see two plugs, one big black one and one single one with a red/white wire coming from it. These will not be connected to anything.
Earth the red/white wire, start the car, and adjust your base timing. Then stop the car and unearth the wire so the computer can do its job again.
