EB / ED trip comuter and climate control

Hey guys,
Quick question.
Will the Eb / ED fairmont trip computer module in the dash work in a EB/ED that only has the clock? Are there any mods that need to be made?
The same for the climate control module form the Fairmont. Can you just replace the slider module in the Base and XR Series cars to get climate control?

Re: EB / ED trip comuter and climate control

no on both counts.

you will need to add the loom for the trip computer...

adding climate is a nightmare. the climate airbox has electric motors which operate the flaps, whereas the normal one has cables- much like a bike brake cable...

in my opinion, id get a smashed EB or ED fairmont, replace the complete dash loom,

this will then give you the trip computer and climate loom....
fit the airbox, fit the electronics et al...

Mate,
OK thanks for the update.
Re the trip comuter. You mention that I would need to fit the loom. Is this just a small part for the trip computer or the complete dash loom?

thanks

Re: EB / ED trip comuter and climate control

you could cut the wires for the trip computer off a fairmont loom from a wreckers to add just the trip computer.
but if you wish to add climate cont as well, id leave the loom intact and just change the dash loom.
as far as i know there is about 8 wires for the trip puter......
