biggrin EB Fairmont Boot Garnish onto EA Boot lid mod - PICS!

Well finally got sick of the ugly looking and faded EA GL boot garnish on my EA S-PAC(replaced the entire boot from a GL and never got round to changing the garnish) and managed to score an entire EB Fairmont boot lid from the dump recyclers for $10! WINZ! Only problem was the bootlid was silver and my car is white...

MOD TIME.
For those who say it's not possible to put a EB-ED rear garnish onto the EA bootlid, here's proof you can with a lot of bending and cutting!

Looking at the back of the old rear garnish compared to the EB Fairmont ones with reversing lights you can see where the problem lays. Out with the jigsaw and lots of cutting and bending later, the garnish fits in. The keylock wire running between the lock and release mechanism needed to be bent a bit because of the reverse light being in the way, and the screws removed from the back of the reverse lights so it would sit flush and not get in the way.

As you can see it looks much better, and I have really good reversing light. Only issue was that the sides of the garnish stick out a bit further then the tail lights, and i believe you need EB rear tail lights to fix this.. however it doesn't look BAD, I think only people with EB's would notice.

yeah i done this to My EA about 2 years ago. all i did was get an entire stark white EB1 bootlid and bolted it on. took about 20 miuntes to convert the whole lot to a EB Fairmont rear end then added a nice lip spoiler to it. made the whole rear end look completley different.
