WTF?

"sticking gears", could you elaborate on this please?

Your mechanic wants to bend you over. You can buy a 2nd hand BTR for as little as a couple of hundred bucks from ebay or a private seller, or buy a fully-reco one for under $2k.

1995 model? I take it you mean EF instead. EA-EL 6-cyl BTRs should be compatible with you model car.

I suggest your mechanic should investigate travel and fornication , he is trying to steal from you

Ask another and can you explain "sticking"
a good used aode can be had from a couple of hundred bucks and you might be able to change it your self BUT more information please.

Thanks for your response I realise I know nothing about cars except driving it is an Ef model. Great idea about ebay and a reconditioned one sounds better then the mechanics advice. Thanks again for your prompt reply. Saldah

HOWEVER beware ebay! If possible test a car with the auto in it still before buying it/having it pulled out.

Re: eb ford gli 1995 model

I take it, that by sticking, you mean that the car seems to hold gears longer than it should??

I,e you accelerate, lift your foot somewhat and it stays in the gear...takes a long time to grab the next one.??

IF so, first port of call is your battery terminals...make sure they are PERFECTLY clean and see how that goes.

Mine also does this. It may be some dirt in the valve body, or a stuck solenoid. all cheap repairs. The attitude with mine is that i am going to drive it until it goes bang. IF i finish my other project before it dies, then i will look into why its doing it.

I notice with mine, it doesn't do it all the time..leading me to think that theres some dirt in the box.
