I've just had a 1991 EB Four Litre fitted to my 1988 EA Falcon. i was wondering if the smartlock feature from a series II EB is connected directly to the ECU (do you have to use smartlock if you use an EB II ECU?)

Also does the EB II ECU give better performance than the EA I ECU or can i use a later model ECU from an EF-EL and does it plug directly in?

The EL computer does plug in, you have to move/add some wires though.

If you use an EBII onwards ECU, you MUST have Smartlock. Otherwise the computer will not run, as it has not recieved the enable code from Smartlock.

IMO the EB computer does not give any better performance than the EA. The EL computer might, however......
