ED heater/climate control

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to remove the control panel for the heater/climate control on an ED. The hot and cold switch jammed up and I want to the remove the unit, but I'm have some trouble getting it out. It would seem the cable at the back is stopping the unit from coming forward and I can't get my hand in behind to disconnect the cable.

I have a short temper when it comes to things like this and I'm not far away from just smashing it out, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: ED heater/climate control

Are we talking Fairmont Ghia climate control, or the base model unit? I would've assumed you're talking about climate control, but you've mentioned a cable at the back of the unit.

Re: ED heater/climate control

It's the base model unit. It's in a XR6 and has Climate Control writen on the front of it but, it's all sliding knobs, not digital with buttons.

Hi
Don't try to disconnect it from the unit, it's too hard. Instead, remove the glovebox and you should see the other end of that cable connected to a lever. Remove it from here and pull the unit out. I think there may also be a screw holding a clip that retains the cable around there that will need to be removed. cheers
Marc

Re: ED heater/climate control

Thanks Marc, it'll have to wait a couple of days now. I've got two big days of drink'n beer and watch'n football ahead of me.
