Re: ED starting problem

Buy yourself the appropriate Gregory's manual and make up an LED tester as described in the book. Then you can run the diagnostic test using the port located under the fuse panel on the drivers side.

The book will also show you how to run tests on the fuel system and diagnose other no start related problems.

Thumbs up Re: ED starting problem

took a chance and replaced the fuel pump...so far every thing is looking good and no delays in starting......will let you know down the track if this was the cause.

Might be the pump , but a new inline preasure filter is about 15$ and can have the same effect . Bursons will do a new pump for $150 with some talk :_)

Re: ED starting problem

it can also be the fuel reg.. becasue the poor strting is caused by low or no fuel pressure in the line.. if either the fuel pump is leaking pressure internally or the fuel reg is allowing fuel pressure to leak past it will cause hard starting as the fuel pressure has to be built up before starting.. if every thing is working fine the pressure will stay in the rails and will start first go

By presure filter, do you mean the fuel filter located on the chassis rail just behind the passenger side rear wheel?.

I'm having the same problem. Changed the fuel filter yesterday and still the same result.

Gonna run a bottle of Nulon injector cleaner through it with a tank of PULP this week and see if that makes a difference.

If not, i'd say the pump is rooted.

Where is the regulator located?. Someone else mentioned that as well.
