ED V8 Cruise Control and ABS Questions

OK, I'll stert with the easy one. Where is the cruise control computer in the ED V8 located and what does it look like? In my EB1 V8 it's above the gas pedal, but in the ED the ABS computer is above the gas pedal. So, where is the cruise control computer hidden in the ED and what does it look like? In the EB1 it's a silver box a bit bigger than a cigarette packet.

Next question, how can I pull the ABS fault codes to diagnose the fault? Is it like the engine codes where you earth one of the leads and read the pulses on another lead? I've built a code reader for the engine ECU. Can I modify this?

I'll also ask one more question. There was a company called Automotive EMF in Springhill Queensland a few years back. Their Web site address no longer works. What name do they go by now?

thanks in advance

Re: ED V8 Cruise Control and ABS Questions

The Cruise control unit is basically under the electric window switches. It's exactly the same module as the EB1 has but in a different place and on a different bracket.

You have to remove the console to get it out. If you don't have electric window switches it's still under where they would be between the gearshift and console bin.

Re: ED V8 Cruise Control and ABS Questions

Thanks again Jim, you were spot on with the cruise control computer location. The fault turned out to be the "on" switch on the steering wheel. The printed circuit board had a crack in the track. After about an hour of diagnostics I fixed it.
