ED XR6 vs EF/EL facon

Trying to decide which to buy at the moment,

They have similar power/torque figures

ED XR6
Power: 161kW at 4600rpm
Torque: 365Nm at 3650rpm

EL Falcon
Power: 157kW at 4900rpm
Torque: 357Nm at 3000rpm

I guess I'm wondering whether its worth going for the newer engine, with the better torque spread at the expense of XR6 tricky bits

Any help much appreciated

they are effectively the same car , drive them both if you must but it makes little difference .

Re: ED XR6 vs EF/EL facon

Actually they are very different cars, from ED-EF was almost a whole new car, only the doors were carried over. Computer torque control, variable length intake manifold, airbags, etc.

Re: ED XR6 vs EF/EL facon

The EF/EL is a much fresher looking car. The ED XR6 would hammer them for performance.

But buy the EL and stick a 3.45 diff ratio and a cat back exhaust in the back and you basically have an XR6.

The EF/EL ford looks heaps better, better interior, newer model.

Re: ED XR6 vs EF/EL facon

Ive had my ED XR6 for 8 years now and still enjoy driving it as much as the
day I bought it. I want to put it on gas but I dont want to upset the balance of nature. If you know what I mean.

Re: ED XR6 vs EF/EL facon

dont forget power to weight is the real key. I think the ED was about 1450kgs, not sure what the EF was, but think it was atleast 1550.
