Read ED XR8 Sprint Spotters guide

Guys,
OK a few questions for those who know the XR8 Sprint and or have one etc. I am looking at purchasing a XR8 Sprint and have a few questions after trolling through all info there is to be had...

Please feel free to correct if wrong..
The stuff I think I know....

365 Sprints made. 184 of them were manual
The engine Code is T
The front guards have a small plastic flare in the leading edge
Body moulds have black insert not other colour.
Only came in White, Red, Polinegion Green, Cobolt Blue and Black.
Options included, Cruise Control, Sun Roof, Premium sound
Special Sprint 16" alloy wheels
All Had momo stearing wheel with and without cruise control buttons
Special inlet manifold (with Sprint plaque)
GT40 Iron Heads
Extractors
High volume MAF meater
5500 Red line on tacho (normal was 5000rpm)
Were $56000 new and were basicly a light weight EBGT
White sticker on driver side rocker cover with build info for engine

Did they come factory with a Alloy spare?
Is there any way to tell the GT40 heads from the outside?
Is there any way to tell if the factory extractors are still there rather than after market?
Is there a part number on the MAF meater block?
Is there a part number on the inlet manifold?
Is the cluch anything special?
Is the cluch cable fairly thik and have a orange outer that extends almost to the front of the motor before it hooks around down under the engine back to the clutch?
Are there any markings on the diff to show LSD?
Does the stiker on the drivers side rocker cover have any numbers that match those on the ID plate? What does this info relate to?
Did normal XR8 engines have the stickers on the rocker cover?
What colour should the rocker cover be?

That should do it for the moment..
All sound over the top, well, yeh I guess so. Just want to get one as stock as possible.

OK, After a little more reasearch at the All ford day...
Here are a few updates...
Did they come factory with a Alloy spare? - Not 100% Sure Most seem to have.
Is there any way to tell the GT40 heads from the outside? - Duno
Is there any way to tell if the factory extractors are still there rather than after market? - Donu yet.
Is there a part number on the MAF meater block? Not sure, but is a big sucker compaired to the Std V8 XR8 and Fairmont one.
Is there a part number on the inlet manifold? - No but has small red sticker on top of air box and one in the same area on the MAF.

Did normal XR8 engines have the stickers on the rocker cover? - Yes all seem to have had one at some time (EB / ED)
What colour should the rocker cover be? (Plastic inlet manifold) should be off silver ish...
Trim code seems to be G2

More to follow

Would like to know ID tag code for Manual vs Auto.?
Did they come Std with Trip comuter in dash (insted of Clock)?

Sprint MAF is F1SF - 12B579 - AA
and they came with std trip computer aswell

Thanks for the update.
Not wanting to question your knowledge.. But...
Re the trip computer. Today I picked up a original ford brochure about the ED XR range and the picture in that brochure of the Sprint does not have a trip computer. Also one that I have seen for sale also doe not have it.

Do you have any Ford doco to show tha it was Std?

hmmm interesting will have 2 find out, and if you look closeley the brocure also says that the sprint has a 5.0l cleavland lol

Yeh I did read that.. LOL..... The brochure also has the car with Std Audio system and Manual.

Any info would be appreciated.

Also, have you or anyone seen at Momo stearing wheels for sale with the curise control buttons in them. Any idea of cost? The car that I have seen has a Std EB / ED stearing Wheel. (It is a sprint it has the ID tag codes and all the other bits..)

ive seen the ones w/o cruise going for 500+ second hand, finding one with cruise is like finding a sprint lol, i see what u mean about the clock, i have heard from some sources that the 93 sprints had the clock and the 94 had trip, not 2 dure if this is true, mine was dec 93 and had trip so i dunoo

OK thanks. The one I have seen is a March 94 build and has a clock. Did you know you can call either Ford or FPV and provide the body number of the vechilce and they can advise what options it was delivered with. Would be interesting to know if yours has the trip computer listed as a option..?
