further to my oil preassure probs my ef i6 has started misfiring under load and seems indecisive whether to change down or not when going up hills, i put it into power and it changed down and was ok. How much do ford dealers charge to get codes out ???

My local bloke will do it for nothing, best to get there in the morning just as they open, before they get too involved in the days work.

Have you checked the level and condition of the trans fluid?

yup i had it serviced about 7000k's ago, What kind of electronics does the trans have ?

The trans gear changes, line pressure, shift feel etc etc are all controlled by the PCM or ECU or whatever you want to call it. It will output fault codes for the transmission as well as the engine.
