frown EF BCM Install/Reset

We were told to replace the BCM as there were a series of faults with the car such as petrol gauge, rear doors not locking, etc.

We are aware of how to reprogram the smart lock keys.

We have done so and left the car to sit for an hour and still nothing has happened. Is there anything we have missed or should be aware of???

Re: EF BCM Install/Reset

Hi
Can you clarify what model it is you're talking about and what procedure you're using to reprogram keys to let you know if it's the right one or not ?

Re: EF BCM Install/Reset

Sorry Mate,

EF 95 Falcoln.

We have the car running and are left with 2 problems.

1. When we turn key to ACC then push the demist button 3 times within 5 secs nothing happens. Weve changed the Smart lock batteries, checked fuse and swapped the relay on the fuse box.

2. The petrol guage is still not working.

Cheers!

Re: EF BCM Install/Reset

Hi
To address No 1.
Does the demister actually work when you press the button ? There should be a light on the cluster when it's on. If ok..
Press the demister button 3 times within 3 seconds (roughly once each second) It's the only way I can get them to work. If door locks don't cycle you have to switch the key to 'off' and back to 'acc' again before trying again.
If door locks cycle but remote won't program check that the LED in the remote lights up when you press either button. You could have a shitty contact inside it.
If you can't get the door locks to cycle at all and everything else is ok, see what happens when you lock the doors from the driver's side using your key. All doors should lock even when remotes are not programmed.
For No 2.
Inside the boot, under the carpet there's a black lid held on by 8 or 10 screws. Take it off and you'll see a connector with 4 wires. 2 are for the fuel pump and 2 for the fuel gauge. Disconnect it and check resistance at the pump connector to make sure that it's not a sender unit issue. If ok, check continuity from the tank connector to the cluster. cheers
