I just bought a new MOMO steering wheel (blue grip) for my EF. It's the same one that used to be an option on the EF-EL XR's. Cruise controls, airbag remain intact etc etc.
Was there ever the option to get a matching gear knob (for an auto) for the EF-EL, like on the more recent Falcons? Don't really want to tear my hair out looking for one for my EF, if they never existed :-)
The blue grip wheel was an AU XR option. The EL had an optional Momo "red stitch" steering wheel, which had slightly different grips than the standard one, and red stitching around it. I had one! :)
If you are after a different auto shift knob, I think there are a few aftermarket options around now.. not sure if Momo do one though.

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
AU one should theoretically fit an EF/L as its the same mechanism (or very close to it). BA one - you push the lever down to change gears, whereas E/AU one you push the lever in. A LOT of difference.
IIRC, EFFalcon was lookingt at grafting the BA shifter onto his BAEF, dunno where that got up to.
As it turns out, the wheel i was getting fell through, so I'm now on the lookout for that as well. Options are sticking an AU job onto my EF, but I'll hunt around for one of the older EF-EL XR (non-momo) sports wheels methinks.
I just wish there were pics of all these (EF-EL XR sports wheels, Momo etc) so that I could see what's shit and what's not before I make enquiries.
Ah well, such are the trials and tribulations of sourcing parts for an older model :-)
You could always try and get an EL GT Automatic Shifter Handle.
