hey, just wondering whats involved with putting an EF engine into an EA Fairmont Ghia. Just need to know how difficult the conversion is and whats involved? also if any one on the site has done the conversion the amount of money it would cost to do so? Also will a standard 3speed be adaptable.
thanks

Depend what you want to do.
If you just bolt in the engine and manifold, all you will need to change is the TPS plug, which is a different shape.
If you want EECV, this will cause you some major headaches but is well worth the time IMO. Be warned though you're looking at 2-5 weeks work depending on screw-ups, time available, etc.
EDIT: You use all your own dizzy, aternator, water pump, etc. I suggest using an EL block as I am not sure you can use a dizzy in an EF one - dunno what they did with camshaft positioning sensors. The manifold and injectors can be left on, but the fuel rail will require the EF/EL fuel pump as it is a higher pressure system, so you may wish to use the old fuel rail.
