Hi guys....I have reading some posts about putting an AU Engine into the EB-ED series. However, according to some of you, the AU engine will not fit into the EF. What other options do I have? I can get an AU but sounds like this is not an option.

The easiest engine to use is any EA-EL engine and fit it with all of your EF engine's accessories if you use a pre EF engine.

The late EL engine has the better balanced crank of the AU so it's the pick of the bunch.

I ahve looked on this boosted site and cannot find any info to suggest one can replace an EF engine with an AU. Could you please find one that suggests such. Thanks...

AU engine into EF/EL can be done and there is an eBay user called Aussiespares that sells AU engines with the sump already modified.

AU FORD FALCON MODIFIED ENGINE TO SUIT EF & EL - eBay Falcon, Ford, Car Parts, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 05-Feb-08 13:59:19 AEDST)

Still simpler to just use any EA-EL engine if you don't want to pay for sump modification. I would go for the AU engine though.

What about changing over the computer. If I put an AU engine into my EF will the computers have to be changed?

What else would I have to change over?

No just put it in as it's similar enough to be happy running with the EF ECU.

After all they are both EECV so there are some small changes but nothing major.

About the only thing that you won't get is the AU's ability to run without coolant because it can drop cylinders to keep cool.
