ok i just got the car today justa few probs i want ya advice on ok
when u turn on teh air con one side makes aslight whining side i think it has to be someware in teh apssanger side controls its almost like a faulty fan u turn up teh air con it get louder ect.

when in netual (5 spd man) idling it goes from a bout 200-800rpm, alsdo when driving in 3rd at arround 2200rpm it seem to shuder a bit

any ideas i aheva 3 year warrenty on this car, as well as the standard 30days

I have a similar noise with the air con / fan.
I am sure it is the air blower behind the glove box, and sounds like a leaf or something in there. Or maybe the the plastic fan that spins is rubbing on the metal housing making a high speed whine that goes up and down with the fan speed.

Hi ,
yea very common for leaves to get into the fan and make funny sounds , I have even seen it cause a smouldering fire , you have to pull most of the dash out to get to the fan box, I have seen this happen in a ED and an EF.

Yeah I was tempted to pull apart to see what the noise was, but once I looked in my workshop manual it looked like a real pain in the ass, so I just turn the stereo up when I put the air con on.
