EL motor in an ea?

I've got an el motor lying around at home and i was wondering if the wiring looms from the ea to el with plug together... I know it all will bolt up the same, just use all the ea accessories.

Anybody know about this?

yeah don't plan on driving the car for a few weeks.
you need to change the motor, wiring and most of the underdash wiring as well. Or if you can bypass smartlock you can just to the ECU and the engine wireing.

Sorry hang on a sec. When you say you've got the El motor. What exactly do you have?
You could simply keep your old induction setup (if it's MPFI) and put the EL motor in.

Why change to the EA manifold?
The EF one will run on the EECIV, you just don't get the broadband runners. They default to top-end power, even so the car will go better across the board than the EA manifold.
You can use the EA MPFI loom, except the ISC plug is different, you will need to alter this, but everything else will plug straight in.

sorry to take so long to reply! thanks for the info fellas....

Two weeks ago I changed the engine and gearbox (auto to manual). Today the timing chain broke, so the motor is practically cactus. DOH! so now I'm going to use the el motor.

Oh well, another 3 or four days putting a new engine in!

Thanks
Craig
