Well it's been a while coming but I got my EA back today with a very sweet EL XR6 engine running it!
I can't believe the difference between my old 3.9 MPFI and this engine its much more refined, smoother and a hell of a lot more powerful.. you can feel it pulling all the way to the redline :D
I got it all done at a place called Macarthur Parts Plus in Narellan and can't rate their service high enough! I pretty much got it all done for $1800 which included all the labour which I thought was a pretty good price.. It was a big step for me seeing how I'm only 18 :D
The thing is though I still have the EA computer running it all... I was wondering if anyone knew if I upgraded to the EL computer would there be any gains to be made??
i'd assume it would *help* but what loom has been used? would that cause any problems? also would the BEM work right with a different computer.
would need to know what out of the EL was put in to know if it will all work together.

Soxx helped me put my El XR6 engine into my Eb a month ago(which was also purchased at Marcarther Parts) and shes still going strong! But have to get the Ef or El computer to run the BroadBand Manifold, at present its on the default setting(Top end)which is the long runners I think.
There is a lot to be gained by having the BBM working properly, ask soxx he has the dyno graphs.
Congrats on the engine upgrade EA-XR6! Great stuff. Replacing the loom is a long-winded job, but unless you have the EL dual-length inlet manifold you wouldn't have much to gain?
The FF user SB3 did this same mod - not sure how he got around that issue though.
