I got a EF Fairmont Ghia 5.0 Ltr and i got king super lows with 17" on it the problem i got is that with one or more people in the rear it sounds like the exhaust is rattling or banging on something when i get under neath i cant see nothing, i put a 3" inch on aswell, and if anyone got any idea what they should go like compared to a EF Fairmont 6 cyl that would be good to.

Assumingly the 3" goes over the axle... it might be a little close, and so that when there are people in the back weighing the car down, the axle might touch it when you go over bumps/potholes/etc?

Although I have a 3" exhaust and *had* superlows on my 5.0 EB and I experienced no issues on this. I'm back to lows now though, far more practical for me

No probs!

However, putting it on the hoist will only show where it is occuring (scrape/impact damage) if you're lucky/unlucky (lol)

Best approach might be jacking up the car & tying some chalk to the axle. THEN drive over a bumpy road with mates. THEN put it on a hoist and look for chalk marks on the exhaust.

Or using something that marks more permanently than chalk

my 3" was knocking my tailshaft rather badly, however that was just a lazy exhaust fit job... maybe the same.. other than that im dunno. im not a car guy i go by hear say.

i had a similar problem on my car, turned out the exhaust was just a little loose, and the weight of a few people in the back was enough for it to rub against the axle, took the exhaust place 5mins to fix.

i had them same problem with my eb fairmont and it turned out where they have the join over the axel it just needed to be pushed up to make the loop part higher took all of about 5min to fix and never had a problem since as it turns out most of the 3" systems you buy off the shelf are made to fit the tickford ride higth so when you go lower you tent to get this problem so yer hope that helps
