Hey guys and gals,

I've just got a stock EA, nothing special......however as of yesterday I noticed it's been dropping transmission fluid pretty badly!!!

So before I take it in to get looked at......just so I have a little idea what might have happened.....What do you guys think might be the reason for the leak....does it sound like a major / minor problem??
How much would it cost to fix it?

Is it just a case of the transmission wearing out??? Will I need to get a replacement transmission?

its a 3.9 CFI 3 speed, done nearly 210 000kms

It's probably one of the seals. Get it checked out before it fully goes. It's not a big deal. Will cost you $200 max.

forgot about this site for a while, so just thought i'd let anybody who half-remotely cares know what happened.......

Turns out the tranny had cracked....and the short drive from home to the mechanic was enough to cook it! So $1300 and a new reco 3 speed later, its all good........but then in early Feb the car was written off - this girl just didnt stop and ran me into a truck in front......panel damage only, but enough to write it off.....got a payout, and with that got an ED Futura - it's done 260 000 country kms, had it 3 weeks now, and am enjoying it immensly....its just a really nice car.
