Help (eb) !!!!!

Hi all

I bought an eb fairmont today ran fine for 20 mins, then started it again a bit latter and ran really rough and blows heaps of black smoke. it is idling at around 2/3 hundred rpm any one got any ideas on whats wrong or how to fix it?


all help appriciated as it has to be going by tommorow so i can get to work (100km away)

Check Vac line on MAP sensor, its just a black hose which goes into a small box on firewall on left hand side of engine (right if looking from front) I had those sort of symptoms when mine came off.

yep it was off i tested the effects on my mates car and it had the exact same effect when i took the hose off

but now the car wont start it turns over but wont fire any ideas?

G'day,
have you tried removing the map sensor vac hose again?

MAYBE the MAP sensor is shagged

How about your fuel pump, turn key to on and if you here a sound from the boot then that is still good, if not new fuel pump.

WHILE WHERE ON THE TOPIC OF EB FAIMONTS THE FAN, FOR THE DEMISTER a/c AND ALL THAT STUFF DOESN,T WORK PROPERLY. ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO CHECK IF ITS THE FANS THATS FRYED OR THE ACTUAL SWITCH, ALSO CAN YOU JUST PRY THE PLATICS SWITCHS OFF WHICH OUT BREAKING THEM, IT THE 92' FAIRMIONT WITH THE DIGITAL CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCHS
