Hi and Help please

Hi I am new to this forum .

Secondly I bought my 96 EL 4 months ago 2 weeks back was told your brakelights are always on and again last week was told the same . Latter last week was told oh you have fixed your brakelight problem thought,I the globe had blown.Went over my mates place for him to take a look at it as well as change my brakes.Well it appears someone wired in something that was not there when the car was new not sure if it was a soundsystem, but when they(or the caryard) have taken whatever it was out they have left a live wire wired into my brakelights!!
What I would like to know does anyone have a diagram of the wiring(like in a workshop manual) so we can rewire my EL and make her safe again,as my mate burnt his fingers on this livewire .Funny thing is this was not happening before I took her back for a 3 month service and I asked the mechanic to check the fuel gauge as she (the car)always says the fuel is on E on petrol ,but it works fine on lpg.I know I can not blame the mechanic even if he did say you need to change your front brake pads before xmas and when we did they had plenty of thickness left on them.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Have you checked the switch ? They cause a lot of problems. There may be other issues, but check the switch first.

Went to the library found the pages we needed pohotocopied them.Came home took the switch off and yes that looks like the brake light problem. The livewires my mate will get rid of them for me .And I will leave all the connections that are under the drivers seat there not sure what they did in this car before i bought it .And for those interested they look like they plugged into a PC .

Cheers and thanks
