how do i get f**kn knob off - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

anyone managed to get th gearknob off on there 1990 gl falcon or anyone know how?

its definitly glued on and no amount of force is budging it, even with clamps. really want to replace th knob and boot.

it just turns anti-clockwise - screws on and off... keep trying you should be able to get it off

Yeah even if it's glued on you have more chance of twisting it off then you do trying to pull it straight off.

Twist it with all your might anticlockwise and see what happens.

use a shifter it makes it alot easier

i got a shift stick here that was replaced with my shortened one. If u cant get it off, ill sell u the stick.

there is a secret button under the front passenger seat, it's red. Press the button and the gear knob will pop off.

i'm sure you will get it off just unscrewing it.. use vice grips or something. cant be that hard!

get a hacksaw if you want to replace it. cut it top to bottom either side of stick
