Hi,
I need some help installing front lower ball joints inan EF. I wacked em out with a hammer, I wacked the new ones in with a pipe but I cant get them to go throught the last 100mm. I used a pipe the diameter of the widest part of the ball joint and I'm thinking that's my problem. I am buying a tool made for EA-EL front ball joints tommorrow and was wandering if anyone on here has mastered this problem or used this tool before. I attatched a picture of the tool. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Normally the only way is to get them pressed in,they should be slightly tapered to ensure a tight fit,this should be achieved by taking the arm off.Belting them in could damage the holes then making the arm useless

You can use that tool with a press or large vice. You can also buy a tool like this that allows you to do them in situ:

OTC make an expensive one you can get in Oz but you can buy one from Harbour Freight, JC Whitney or Summit in the US via the Internet.
