Have a 5 litre nc fairlane, the starting has been playing up recently, having to tap under dash to get starter motor to go, friday was cranking would not fire, does the module under the dash also control the spark as it seemed there was nothing at the leads, or am i looking at faulty coil ??

Loose connections on back of key lock more likely and common.

the smart lock unit under the dash turns the engine computor off so yes it could be the issue

if it was the smartlock, wouldnt that stop the engine cranking ?

picked up another dizzy today (FTG auto wreckers) great price..dropped the dizzy in..now trying to get the damn bolt back in to hold it in place, any idea on the easiest way when you dont have small hands and theres no kids around

job done, and she runs again...best advice for getting the bolt back to hold the dizzy in place is a piece of fishing line and patience
