Re: NEW AND LOOKING FOR AN XR6 E series

Welcome to the forums!

EB XR6s tend to be a bit cheaper than their ED siblings due to their more plain-jane appearance. They're both good cars. The EF XR6s are a little more expensive I believe, and probably better value-for-money, but you're more likely to find a cheap EB/ED XR6.

Of course, you will have to closely inspect any XR6 as they are bound to have been thrashed, especially cheap ones.

Good luck with buying an XR6! I nearly bought an EB one for $5k about 18 months ago, but it was knackered :(

Re: NEW AND LOOKING FOR AN XR6 E series

welcome to the forums mate!An ed xr6 is a good choice and you should be able to pick one up for 4500 to 7000 (depending on condition)
Just beware about the front light set up on the ed's,replacement part from ford is better than 3 grand(i know cos i wanted to fit a new one)
hmmm BETTER still is the ed xr8 or ed fairmont ghia, the latter being more luxury orientated.
you wont save much more on fuel with the xr6(they have to be driven harder)
Mind you the desirability levels on an 8 is high with xr's costing upwards of 8k and fairmont ghias pretty close second.
I picked up an ed gli with a v8 extractors.head work ,xr8 rims.ooohh and a kn filter with 160 000 on tha clock for 6,900 and is straight as and has a few extras(and goes like the clappers....hope this helps!cheers!
