'sup guys,

i've just recently purchased some clear side indicators & a new exhaust for my EL XR6, which has since got me thinking... what are some nice simple mods for ELs? i liked the whole clear side indicator deal, it was simple & effective...

maybe those of you out there who've come up with some ace mods could list them here? it'd be interesting to see what comes up.

Colour code the side/bumper mouldings and tint the windows, that'll make it stand out some more.

yep ace idea... although since i bought the 6 i've had an equal amount of people tell me they both like & dislike the red XR strip. some say it's a feature on the ELs much like the GT stripes on the BAs, others just say my car looks like a christmas tree

; regardless it's made it on the list.

i tend to think removing the spoiler might look pretty neat too, 'specially if i can get it a bit lower. i'm also considering replacing my Akuza 18"s with BA XR8 18"s... so if anyone here is reading this & interested in my wheels OR selling some of the above let me know.

how about removing some (or all) of the badges? i've seen quite a few XRs with the XR logo removed from above the side indicator (tickford badge typically remains though) -- i think it looks tidy.

By the by dude, sweet ride. your car is what other EL owners should hope theirs will eventually look like some day.

simple... hmm tickford snorkle rrp $40 odd. Blue LED dash rrp $40-60. Paint ur wheel hubs and or calipers rrp $20. maybe some smallish driving/fog lights like i have $30...not much else externally.. personally i like the mags on the car atm.. maybe source an EL2 XR8 wing the higher arch style..

whoops you said remove the wing.. haha. they do look tough with no wing, but then again they look nice with em too.. each to thier own..

The BA XR8 rims on my car are replicas, cast to suit the E series offset. I got them from Wheels Direct in Melbourne. No one who has seen my car has picked that they are not genuine, they are very true to the original rims.
If you want to run BA offset rims you will need to use a set of hub adaptors, but your insurance company may not like the adaptors, better check first. Don't use spacers, they are too dangerous.

blue LED dash huh? sounds neat. have you done this to your ride? if so, could you post some pics? i'm assuming the LED colour doesn't necessarily have to be blue, right? green, red or even white would be tops.

fairmont1998, does wheels direct in melbourne have a url? & how much were the BA 18"s drive away?

i've thought about brake calipers & wheel hubs, but i can't decide on a colour... any suggestions? i think you have to choose wisely as the wrong colour can make your car look cheap n nasty.

NB after comments made about the bumper mouldings i think i'll prolly wait before i colour-code them & respray the entire exterior of the car. i previously owned a vk commodore (

) and had it resprayed -- it looked horn.
