oil to use

hi guys, i need help with engine oil for my car. would this oil be ok for my ED XR6 (its called "multigrade" it says "quality engine oil for petrol engines API SG/SC, then below says SAE 25W-50, on the back it says "technical information- SAE 25W-50,API SG/SC,ford ESE-M2C-153E") help would be great,cheers also, do i actually fill the oil to the brim?

your car will take 5.5 litres of oil, dont put any more than that and that oil you have is fine to use.

i use penrite 25w-50

Just as a sidebar the code basically means that it is refined to a higher level that is SG is better than SF which is better than SC etc. The numbers 25W-50 are for viscosity at (if memory serves me right) at 0 degrees F so it means it's 25x thicker than water, W is for winter use and 50 is a rating for temperature durability- the higher the number the better it will last at high temps. Like my father said about cars use the best oil,tyres and fuel for your car it may cost a bit more in the short term but will cost you less in the long term
