I'm taking my car in for a service on Friday and am supplying my own oil as I want to use something decent. I've heard quite a few positive comments about Pennzoil.

Anyone use it in their E-series (pref. EBII-ED)? What viscosity(?) is best and all that other jargon?!

Pennzoil is good stuff, as is Penrite, and Penrite is made in OZ.

I've never heard anything bad about Penrite. HPR30 would be the one I'd use.

same here with the HPR30. found it the best in my car, even with the high kms!

I used penrite hpr 30 and removed it after 2700 k's, it was crap, real bad on my lifters. ticked like a super bitch. I went back to mobil 1 (with sythinol or whatever toss wank that is), and slowly my lifters are retuening to normal. Next i shall be trying shell helix synthetic as its like 20 bucks cheaper and is supposedly better.

I used to run Pennzoil in my car and had no complaints. These days I use Castrol GTX2 for a few reasons. 1. The engine seems to like it. 2. You can buy it almost anywhere and 3. It's pretty cheap compared to other oils.

hmm.. i found with the shell stuff i tried that i got a lot of lifter noise.. hot, cold, anything.. so i went back to my penrite.

I used to use shell helix, now I use shell helix plus. Never had a problem with either of them, so I stick to what works for my car.
