gave this dude a car EA GHIA standard 3.9 litre 3 speed auto etc non running cause the dizzy was shot
told him i wanted the cars top end done and wanted to make a 14 sec but a easy to maintain street ride
any way we talked heads extractors zorsts diff gears gbox's bodywork and from the word go i have a worried feel about it
was meant to come get my car and never did (even though he had a trailor in brisbane that same week) so i paid a towie nearly 300 to get it to alted
anyways after a month work begun and was making f/n payments to get bits n pieces i made payment in full before the completion thinking he needed it for all the gear etc
well part after part wasnt turning up and then a wiring problem came obout after 3 weeks they removed this motor to find the bottom end was outta whack with the top end,did something to the crank etc,so he told me i hadn't got my diff gears cause they never turned up and reckons he gave me a lsd instead (it had one already der)
anyways 2nd hand motor back to a 3.9litre tells me its got stage 2 crow cam gear etc
he whacks that motor in for a price of 600*wreckers are charging 200-250 for these motors*and tells me its ready
well long trek up i get there the body work is crap house the motor was greasy but the car sounded alright
i got outside the gates and within 10mins i ran into troubles smoke and death wobbles in the car i call him up he looks cant find it my brother inlaw says its the hand brake so we disconnect it and i drive home,get on the hwy and its all over the place(so much for new rubber up front)i get it home n i aint happy the car seems like the motor is strong but hesitates abit hot and yeah i park it up only to find 12 hours later i have a good litre of oil under the car i ring him up and he says it was fine at his place but i know the smoke was obviously from a oil leak,so i tell him i aint happy and he brushes me off i then find the sump has a crack has some black goo covering up(come to find he bodgied it cause he dropped the motor before putting it into my car)so i decided i was gunne get my 4litre engine so i bought one got my mechanic to fix the brake booster he bodgied(i paid for) the rubbers (he was to replace) and after 1200+ dollars i ahve half a complete car no performance except a zorst n xtractors,never got my cam or my diff gears or rubber or half the stuff i wanted
now i got told later he did alot of bodgy stuff thermo fan wiring is done with household stuff(placed in untidy and ugly etc)he swapped parts with cars(customers cars)
and i know my money wasnt funding my car and was more then likely funding his.
theres other stuff i know but i wont indulge on a open forum
but alted doesnt get my vote for performance shops maybe if your after a qik fix or repair but after 3-4months of waiting when he said it'd be done in 3 weeks well you decided
his mate does cam and they seem ok but yeah dont deal with alted himself unless you have your parts on securely and your there watching him
