Today, one of my work mates showed me her immaculate EA Fairmont. I thought to myself, yeah she's kept it in good condition, no worries. She bought it brand new in 1988, it is white and has a velour interior, its got the turbo blade wheels and is slightly lowered and has a 2.5 in sports exhaust. The car was immaculate. Now the part I nearly fainted at.... It has done 64,000kms in its entire life!! And the fact that she insured it back in 1988 as agreed value, and its currently insured for $16,000
Can anyone say the most expensive EA write off?!
You'd think it would be a good buy but then again you have to remember all the problems that EAs suffered at that stage of their lives. We all own EAs with over 100,000km on them which have had all the problematic bits on the replaced and therefore we suffer from less of the headaches that the original owners suffered.
Ofcourse this one may be an exception but you never know.
