EBXR, thanks for the offer dude, but i dont want to inconvenience you and i should be right this one seems good...i took it for a test drive this arvo and i love it! its the first time i have driven a falcon or anything of this size so it was a little different, but i really enjoyed it :D ...has SO much power compared to what im used to as well...i presume 2nd gear can go past 100 because i took it to 90 and it sounded and felt like there was plenty to go? the car goes into mechanics on thursday so i'll know then if im going to get it or not! ..i think i need to try and calm myself down until then

GO FORD!

4spd and 3.08 diff?
is that correct?
i always thought they could do 100 aswell
i read somewhere that an EF was able to do 180 in third, if the diff and trans is the same then?

I believe EB series II models all had 3.27 (except off course XR6s etc) ratios, unlike the original EB, or the ED for that matter. Some people disagree with this though...

Thats true jack, it was basically 3.27 non lsd (25 spline) for lesser models, 3.27 lsd (28 spline for the ghias and cars optioned with LSD and 3.27 lsd (heavy duty) for V8 models

Yep, EFs can do 180 in 3rd

hehe, I don't think I'll tell dad about that one...

I also got his BA to 120 in 2nd using that funky sequential auto. It took off like a rocket! (Dropped from 3rd to 2nd at 40kph & booted it). I had to back off coz I was still in town at the time, & it took me by surprise. DON'T do it people!

I don't think I'll tell dad about that one either!

i got the mechanical inspection done earlier today and the problems are:

Front universal joint is worn
Engine oil leaks from front
water pump is leaking
Power steering high pressure line leaking
Wheel bearing free play - front
R/H number plate light and eye level stop light not working

the mechanic reckons that it will cost $400 - $500 to fix all that up so it passes rego inspection...do you guys think i should let him do it or are those probs easy to fix and cost less then what he will charge? besides those probs...the mech said its in good condition, so i'll be making an offer :)
