Re: redback exhaust system on ea

Thats strange cos ive got pretty much the same setup on my ED and i wouldnt want to go any louder. (well id love to but the cops dont like it!!!!). Anyway as far as i know it will make it slightly louder but it will droan like a son of a bitch so if you do any highway driving and you like your sanity!! i wouldnt remove the hotdog.

Re: redback exhaust system on ea

They must have used one hell of a quiet muffler, the hotdog shouldn't make that much difference to the noise.. see how it goes though.
Friend of mine had a redback system on his ea, with a hotdog on and you could hear him from a few blocks away, had a very nice sound.

Have you heard your car with someone else driving it without you in it? Because his sounds very quiet from in the car and at idle but it's a much different story if you hear him driving past.

Tongue Re: redback exhaust system on ea

jus get a bloody xr6 exhaust if your lucky to find one lol,i had a 2.1\2inch straight pipe to a hot dog muffler on mine but cops kept bloody pulling me over.Silence and peformance is much better why would you wanna attract attention, but yeah ive jus had a few run ins with the boys in blue so im always careful when im modifying anything half the things on my car are probably illegal. From what i hear redback exhausts are pretty good you shouldnt change it man.

Re: redback exhaust system on ea

HI
its been a couple of weeks since i got the exhaust. ive only driven the car 3 times .
anyway a few days back i parked at work and as i walked away i noticed a large length off plastic hanging out the exhaust it looks like a large amount of pallet stretch wrap..
anyway i pulled out what i could...
so i took it back to the exhaust place and showed him what came out..
he was kinda suprised but he replaced the whole system for free..
he said that when they get the systems in they are wraped in stretch wrap..
he was curious why that system wasnt wraped up.
it turns out that someone has taken the plastic off to check out the system and just shoved the plastic in the pipe infront of the muffler..
thats why it sounded like a vacume cleaner the system was slightly blocked with plastic..

anyway the car sounds ok now not to loud not to quiet. and performs the way it should...
i still might take the hotdog off im undecided???????

Re: redback exhaust system on ea

Hello there everyone , I have a bit of a different problem with my redback extractors. The amount of heat they are throwing out is melting wiring and causing the throttle cable 2 buckle above them.Does anyone know where i may find a design for a svo heat shield? Come on u clever sausages
