I recently became the happy owner of an ED Futura. The central locking is fine, right rear door wire is cut so only 3 doors work as such.
The remote keypad also doesn't work. I have been told that there is a way to re-code them without having to take it to Ford to get them to do it?? Does anybody know what you have to do?
The way I reset the keypad on my DF was following the steps below......
1. Switch the ignition to OFF, then to ACCESSORY position.
2. Press and release the rear demister button 3 times within 5 seconds. The doors will operate to indicate the system is in learn mode.
3. Now press the DOORS button on each of your keypads. The door locks will operate twice each time you press the keypad button to indicate the keypad is trained and will now remotely lock or unlock your vehicle.
NOTE: If an additional or replacement keypad requires training, the existing keypad must be retrained at the same time.
Don't know whether this works on an ED but it is worth a try!
Hope this helps.

I just tried this, but it didn't appear to work :-(
i know u have to use the demister button...just not sure wat to do other than that lol sorry champ...go down to the local dealership and they will tell ya
Try the boot release button on dash not demister3 times I have an 93 EB Wagon and the Max Ellery manual (p136) tells you how to do this. Chances are that the EF's are different.
I had a new stereo installed from audiocom and now the central locking isnt working at all 4 doors...
They reckoned that it was a motor for the passenger side front so i replaced it and it works but not in sequence with the others im assuming that it needs to be reset.
Hey, On the ED it is using the boot release button not the demister...thats what it says in the manual. We had to do this when we bought a new keypad.

I have the same problem on my 95 ef with drivers side back door, retraining the keypad did not reset the door, if anyone has idea how to reset it would be very helpful as I cant lock the car when I go out. Also I put a genuine ef clock into the car, I thought just plugging it in to the original wiring would make it work but no good. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
