sequential injection in ef

It is my understanding the AU I6 came with sequential injection what I want to know is, if put a AU ECU into an EF Fairmont would this carry across the sequential injection to EF without causing any other problems?

Is it as simple as plugging in the ECU or is further wiring required?

Re: sequential injection in ef

Further wiring would be involved as the 2 banks of 3 injectors in pre AU cars were wired together.
It shouldn't be too difficult though.

Re: sequential injection in ef

It is my understanding that in the EF (100 pin ECU and coil pack) the injectors were individually wired back to the ECU. However they still fired in banks. The injectors were individually wired for diagnosis purposes.

Re: sequential injection in ef

That could be true, I'm not 100% sure as I don't have a schematic for the EF.

Re: sequential injection in ef

My Max Ellery manual schematic shows them wired in two banks of three in the EF and EL

Re: sequential injection in ef

I've heard it's possible, with a few wiring mods. I don't have pin outs for EF or AU ECUs so I can't help there.

You'd need a Series 1 AU ECU though, AU II on had Smartsheild, not Smartlock.
