Serious Problems with the EAL

Well my problem that i was having with a lack of low down power seemed to slightly dissapear today when i filled the tank up and as soon as I took off the car felt like it had more low down power again. Driving it arround i didnt know if it was any quicker than before (CFI+LPG).

Well..........

After work (on a private road) i draged my mates 1985 XF 3speed auto Carby. Before he use to jump me off the line and then i would nail him 100m up the road. Well, this time he jumped 2carlengths on me and keped on pulling away from me.

Neadless to say i was very disheartened.........

I so hate my car....

Re: Serious Problems with the EAL

Ohhhhh yeah, and some times the car wont rev past 4400rpm, it just struggles and sits there like its on a rev limiter, then other times it will run smooth to 5000rpm.........

ARGHHHHHHHH i hate this piece of junk

Re: Serious Problems with the EAL

no i havent. I want to get the self test codes working first as i cant seem to get any from the ECU/self test conector. Really what i need is a wide band exhaust analizer to see if its running rich or the like.

But if i could get the KOER test to work it would be a start

dude..

seeing your other thread the other day, i wondered what fuel pump you used? if you havent already, id change this to an EF/EL one. not sure if theres a pressure difference between EA MPI and EL, but theres a flow difference between MPI and CFI... maybe your one is stuffed anyway... it sounds like it could be the problem. if you were running rich youd have clouds of black smoke...

dont lose heart dude, youre so close its not funny.
