My brother and I went about changing the oil in my car today and adding the xh snorkle. My friend also came round with his r31 to do an oil change.

It all went pretty well until I came to the oil filter so I went down to autobarn and picked up a similar item that Jack Travis used that fits a 3/8 rachet set. It is an excellent tool for $8 and I wouldn't dream of using another type! Got it first try :)

I filled her up with some Penrite HPR 15 and used a ryco filter. She dosn't shudder anymore in park and the engine seems to really like the thicker grade 15-60w.

The snorkle is also cool. I put a new ryco premium air filter in and she loves it. There is a difference in throtal response and seem alot less restricted at a high rpm.

I decided to have another go at the snorkle and modifided it by sanding down the strip that went across the front of the intake and also cutting it so it fitted behind the radiator shroud. This made a big difference and now I am seeing the full benefits of the xh snorkle! Have any of you guys done this?

Glad the service worked out mate. It is necessary to cut off the leading edge of the old snorkel, but it doesn't take long with a hacksaw. I bought mine hoping it would improve performance (live and learn

) but have only attached it to the airbox, not the fan shroud as yet.

I found a noticable difference by sanding it down and making it sit nice and flush you should have a go Jack!
